Sensitive skin can be caused by underlying (skin) conditions such as rosacea and eczema. However, environmental factors and improper use of cosmetics can also trigger sensitive skin. Your skin barrier plays an important role in all of these causes.<\/p>\n

Research shows that sensitive skin is associated with a deteriorated skin barrier. You can think of this as the resistance of your skin. A deteriorated skin barrier allows irritants or allergens to enter the skin easily and causes water to evaporate quickly from the skin. Also, a weak skin barrier is unable to properly protect the nerve endings, making the skin sensitive. The quality of the skin barrier depends in part on the presence of certain fats in the skin (lipids). It is well known that in sensitive skin, the composition of fats is not balanced, resulting in a reduced skin barrier. It is known that people with sensitive skin are five times more likely to develop allergies.<\/p>\n

    Sensitive skin can be caused by underlying (skin) conditions such as rosacea and eczema. However, environmental factors and improper use of cosmetics can also trigger sensitive skin. Your skin barrier plays an important role in all of these causes.<\/p>\n

    Research shows that sensitive skin is associated with a deteriorated skin barrier. You can think of this as the resistance of your skin. A deteriorated skin barrier allows irritants or allergens to enter the skin easily and causes water to evaporate quickly from the skin. Also, a weak skin barrier is unable to properly protect the nerve endings, making the skin sensitive. The quality of the skin barrier depends in part on the presence of certain fats in the skin (lipids). It is well known that in sensitive skin, the composition of fats is not balanced, resulting in a reduced skin barrier. It is known that people with sensitive skin are five times more likely to develop allergies.<\/p>\n
