How does the treatment work?
A Tixel treatment is based on heat: a small titanium head shoots small pins briefly and quickly against the skin. Tiny, sterile holes are thus created, allowing heat to penetrate deep into the skin. Then the healing process occurs. Heat release in the dermis stimulates collagen production resulting in younger and tighter skin.

Who performs the treatment?
At The Laser Clinic, you will always be helped by an experienced BIG registered skin therapist. We attend annual training and conferences to maintain our protected title. This can be found in the Paramedics Quality Register. Because of this, you know you are in safe hands.
Is the treatment painful?
This is experienced very differently from person to person. Therefore, we wouldn’t call it painless but it is doable. You obviously do feel the heat in the skin. On the bone structures, you clearly feel a tingling sensation during the pulses. Incidentally, this is only brief. Compared to CO2, it is painless though. It is always possible to take a paracetamol beforehand.
What does my skin look like after treatment?
After treatment, the skin is a little redder and may swell slightly. After a few days, you will see a micro-crust on the skin in the shape of the imprint of the Tixel. After a week, these scabs are completely gone.
What should I consider after the treatment?
It is incredibly important to stay out of direct sunlight after treatment. We also recommend keeping the skin dry for the first 24 hours. The growth factors work through and the skin closes completely after 24 hours. Then you may apply a mild post-treatment cream and a broad-spectrum mineral SPF 50. Your skin therapist will be happy to advise you.
Is the Tixel treatment suitable for all skin types?
The Tixel is safe for skin types I-V but from skin type IV onward, the risk of a pigment reaction does increase. In darker skin types we therefore recommend to undergo the treatment only in the winter period, in the summer period we prefer to choose the SkinPen treatment, this is without heat.
Is the treatment safe?
Yes, absolutely! We chose the Tixel precisely because of its safety. The risk of complications is lower than with deeper fractional laser treatments such as CO2. Also, the recovery time is much shorter and the treatment is less sensitive. The Tixel has both FDA and medical CE approval.
In what treatment indications is the Tixel used?
The Tixel is ideally suited for skin rejuvenating treatments for a tightening effect of the skin. In a spa setting, these treatments visibly reduce fine lines, smoker’s skin, sagging skin, (acne) scars and sun-damaged skin.
What areas can be treated?
In addition to the face and neck, the Tixel also tightens the body such as the cleavage, arms, hands and knees.
When should I not be treated?
There are some contraindications such as: pregnancy, an active cold sore, doxycycline (antibiotic) use and sun-tanned skin. Always consult with your skin therapist about your health and medications. During the intake, any contraindications will be discussed.
When will I see results?
The full results become visible after 2-5 months but after 6 weeks you can already notice the first improvements to the skin. We recommend a course of 4 treatments.
How does the payment go?
By pin or exact cash during each treatment or when purchasing a discounted package at the start.
Is there any reimbursement available from the health insurance company?

Before the treatment, the skin is first properly cleansed. We delineate the area to be treated and take a photograph. Next, the handpiece of the Tixel is placed on the skin and delivers heat pulses. This feels like a short tap, releasing heat. It briefly feels warm in the skin and also continues to glow for a while after. This heat causes new collagen to be produced, making the skin firmer and healthier. After the whole area has been treated we start LED therapy depending on the chosen indication is red or yellow light. This reduces redness and makes healing faster and the final result more beautiful.
